Fresh Lime - Mint - Ice Tea

 

Ingredients:

  • ca. 1 1/2 litres of water
  • 2 limes
  • a bundle of peppermint and/or lemon balm
  • elderflower syrup
  • 1 or 2 tea bags of peppermint tea (I used ginger-peppermint tea)
  • ice cubes

Of course you can add more tea bags or peppermint etc. if you want to. These are just some guidelines but you can vary it how you want.

Preparation:

First of all boil the water and put it into a big tea pot.

Add the peppermint/lemon balm and the tea bags to the water, but make sure to wash the mints beforehand. (Put a litle bit of the mint aside for decoration.) Now let it steep for a while.

Wash the lime and devide it into eight pieces.

You can remove the tea bag after a few minutes and stir the mixture every now and then. You can put the tea pot into the fridge so it will cool down a little bit faster.

Once the tea/mint mixture is cooled down a litte, you can add the syrup. Add as much as you want depends on how sweet you want your ice tea to be.

Put two or three pieces of lime and a little bit of peppermint in every glass and pour the cooled ice tea over it.
Add some ice cubes if you want and voilĂ  - finished!
